A space for members serving in similar areas of ministry to share ideas, challenges, and wonderings with colleagues, convened by members for members. A place to enjoy community with others in like roles.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: All those working in a Christian formation role in a diocesen office.
FACILITATORS: Emily Gowdy Canady, Missioner for Lifelong Christian Formation in the Diocese of East Carolina and Pattie Ames, Canon for Christian Formation in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Those curious about or already engaged in ministry with all ages.
FACILITATORS: Wendy Claire Barrie, Canon for Intergenerational Ministries at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, Washington and Katy Denning Lay Associate for Parish Life at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Natick, Massachusetts.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Those who serve in larger churches (self-defined).

First Wednesdays
A time for brainstorming and resource sharing around rotating themes related to formation ministry. These gatherings are facilitated by members of the Forma Leadership Council and rely on mutual contribution from attendees — you are invited to come with curiosity and wisdom to share. These conversations feed our Resource Library, where ideas and resources are catalogued for all of our members to benefit from.
Second Wednesdays
A time for Forma members to connect with colleagues, build relationship, and tend to their own souls as ministry leaders. These gatherings lead up to the conference and are designed to spark and cultivate theological imagination — me time for ministers.
Third Wednesdays
A presentation from a subject matter expert on issues relevant to formation ministry, offered in partnership with Lifelong Learning. Registration is required but free for Forma members using a discount code found in VTS+.
